The Honey Project: Improving Lives Couldn't Be Sweeter

The honey bee, a social insect, understands the importance of working together for the betterment of the colony. The social nature of the bee recognizes that it wouldn’t survive on its own, and therefore functions cooperatively to increase production of the colony, provide safety and defense, nest building for shelter, food gathering and finally care of the young.

kidshomeLike the honey bee, the Honey Project seeks to work cooperatively with the global community to address social issues such as youth empowerment, poverty alleviation and the preservation of our environment. We achieve our mission by teaching our young people how to be social innovators and change agents through entrepreneurship and revenue generation instead of charity. We harvest the energy and passion of our young people and their strong desire to see sustainable change take place in our communities; and give them the tools they need to impact the world.

Over the years the Honey Project has trained hundreds of students in social entrepreneurship, created a cooperative in rural Africa for subsistent farmers, developed an international exchange program and launched several youth owned business ventures in our local community and this is just the beginning. The social issues that we address are challenging and big, but our goals and dreams are bigger. Just as the honey bee can’t build a colony alone, the Honey Project can’t build a better world alone. Therefore, we encourage you to get involved and become a Project Partner by purchasing our products, become a mentor or sponsor a student. So join us as we continue to improve lives, the honey just makes it a little sweeter.
